yeahoo! it's get*free*stuff evening. all from the couch. futon*bed*chair, that is.
after baking cookies for five hours today, i wanted to sit and watch some tv show, but a fabulous website caught my attention: suddenlyfrugal.blogspot.com
how to be green and save money in little ways. i am fire and flame for the idea, naturally. i am this idea already, a bit at least, but leah ingram is my new guru. taking second place to my mom, that is.
here in the u.s. the availability of free stuff is far greater and more bountiful. via the website www.cheapstingybargains.com, more specifically the 'freebie roundup', i am requesting lots of free things. for the measly price of selling my postal and email address. as for the email, i have an address that is accustomed to spam for just this purpose. furthermore, gmail has a fabulous spam filter. as for the postal address, our apartment's mailbox is recipient to mail of people who have lived here ages ago, thus accustomed to snail spam. hence, advertisements to my current address won't bother me long anymore.
yet i'd rather have ads i don't care for than miss out on nifty free stuff and/or bargains :-D
as for today, there is
* a free one*year*subscription to plenty magazine, about the environment and resourcefulness, afaik
* a free red tote bag, always great for grocery shopping
* a free 14 day vitamin sample
* a free photo frame
as opposed to offers in germany, it is quite easy here to cancel trial subscriptions after receiving the free bonus [for example, an mp3 player i then sold online for $30, or wal*mart gift cards worth $40]. in germany, as i found, they screw you. for example, having to send a fax/letter to confirm the online cancellation. a letter takes 5 days from here to there, and the weekend, and unfortunately, they couldn't honor my cancellation even after a heart*to*heart email from me. i'm sorry, the policies. blabla. policy*hider. should be a synonym for douchebag. hence, i had to pay the $16 for a one*year*subscription. maybe not so much, but this is a matter of principle!
here, i find, there is lots of free stuff to be had for any organized person who cancels the offers in due time.
* a 2*year*subscription to readymade, a "sassy, mon, diy magazine for people who like to make stuff"
of course, the organized freebie hunter makes note of what subcriptions to notify of new address when moving.
* a free issue of bridalguide
note: anything that requires shipping payment is not free.
* o.b. tampon sample [yeahoo!]
* bertolli pasta sauce sample
* csq magazine subscription [LA lifestyle thing, i hesitated, but images bring ideas]
* coupon for set of 6 harbor freight screw drivers, expires on tue, i will have to drive there before driving to my swweetheart. sorry darling, priorities *wink*
* a free bible! ... just kidding. no thank you.
* a free mobile phone strap, look: gaudy, no thank you.
* a free four*color*pen, no thank you. is a cool thing, but there are more than enough pens around me as it is. i don't want resources to be used to make a pen that i want to have but won't use. hence i don't want to have it. but another glass of water. anyone? hello?
* a free coupon organizer? offer has ended but leads me to the site dollargeneral.com. aha. a saver's paradise apparently. unfortunately, california is one of the 13 states that don't have a store. sniff.
* a free "40 day prayer guide" !! [no thanks, not for me. i'd probably lose interest after 38 days.]
* a free marykay mascara
* quaker simple harvest granola bars
* a free fiber one sample
* a free bra, supposedly, from a company with dubious grammatical expressions
* a free maxwell coffee sample [they spelled the flavor 'haselnut' but i won't be picky for free coffee]
and now, after the coffee, i am tired. all that free shopping. phew. exhausting.
nighty night.
